Arm - Wrist - Hand Pain

A thorough examination and diagnostic tests can determine the source of your arm/wrist/hand pain. Often the source is in your upper spine or neck. A herniated/ruptured disc could be the culprit, putting pressure on nerves and sending pain signals to the arm or hand. Stenosis (narrowing) of the spinal column in the neck or upper back may be responsible, as can a hairline fracture in the neck. A rotator cuff injury, tendinitis and bursitis may also cause pain in the upper extremities.

How Our Doctors Diagnose

In addition to a physical examination and thorough discussion of the pain you’re experiencing and your medical history, we have an array of tests and imaging to help diagnose the source of your pain: x-ray, MRI, CT scans, blood test (to detect infection or viruses), bone scan, discography, and nerve studies such as electromyography.
