What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative Medicine is an exciting, cutting-edge medical field that can repair and replace tissue damaged by age, injury or disease. Studies have shown that regenerative medicine can be used to repair damage to a patient’s hips, knees and shoulders. Through the introduction of growth factors and Stem Cells, the body can use its own healing process to restore functionality to its’ tissues and cartilage.

How does Regenerative Medicine work?

Regenerative Medicine works by injecting two types of regenerative material into damaged tissue or cartilage: Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) or Stem Cells. These products spur tissue growth.

Platelet Rich Plasma Injections

  • PRP is drawn from the patient’s own blood.
  • The rejuvenation of tissue is based on the body’s growth factors that help healing, improve bone regeneration, and reduce scar formation.
  • PRP is based on the patient’s ability to heal, so results can be unpredictable.

Stem Cells Injections

  • Stem Cells are extracted from amniotic tissue in a sterile laboratory to ensure patient safety.
  • The placental tissues are donated by screened and consenting mothers after a healthy and sterile C-section delivery.
  • Stem Cells are “undifferentiated,” meaning they have not yet been programmed to grow into a specific type of tissue or organ.
  • After injected into the patient’s damaged tissue, healing begins.
  • Within 7 to 10 days after injection, the function and mobility of your joint returns to a level PRIOR to the injury or damage.
  • Many patients state they have no more pain.

Why is Regenerative Medicine a GREAT alternative?

  • It has the potential to heal patients without having intrusive surgery, and improve the quality of life — particularly those who are living with chronic pain.
  • Injections are administered as an outpatient procedure with sterile preparation at the site.
  • Common for interventional pain procedures such as joint pain in the wrists, elbows, knees and more.
